Short Biography – Johnny Krüger

Johnny Krüger has a special fascination for animals in motion. Born in 1961 and raised in South Africa, he discovered his deep passion for wildlife and photography at an early age. Since 1980, he has been photographing animals in their natural environment. He is a reference photographer for the lens manufacturer SIGMA and has received numerous national and international awards. Noteworthy achievements include successes at the Trierenberg Super Circuit and the Sony Awards. Johnny Krüger was named “German Champion 2018” by the German Association for Photography (DVF) and received the “Ludwig for Nature Photography” at the 2014 Pirmasens Photo Days. He holds the title “Master of FIAP” (Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique / International Federation of Photographic Art).

Kenya Special 2026 – Photo Safari with Johnny Krüger – An Overview

The Kenya Photo Safari 2026 is suitable for both ambitious hobby photographers and experienced professionals. Experience thirteen unforgettable days in some of Kenya’s most beautiful national parks and reserves. During daily game drives in open safari vehicles, you will have the opportunity to witness Africa’s fascinating wildlife up close and photograph it under professional guidance.

The journey takes you to the impressive protected areas of Solio, Samburu, Ol Pejeta, Amboseli and Tsavo East – regions renowned for exceptional biodiversity and stunning landscapes. Alongside encounters with elephants, lions, rhinos and giraffes, you can expect unique photographic opportunities with the backdrop of Kilimanjaro and the African savannah.

Itinerary – 9-Day Photo Safari with Johnny Krüger

DAY 1: 31 July 2026 – Arrival in Nairobi

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to recover from the journey.
Overnight: Kazuri Camp (Bed & Breakfast)

DAY 2: 1 August 2026 – Nairobi – Nyeri

After breakfast, you drive north towards Mount Kenya and onward to Nyeri. Lunch will be served en route at the famous Trout Tree Restaurant, built inside a giant fig tree. In the afternoon, there is time to observe and photograph colobus monkeys and tree hyraxes.

DAY 3: 2 August 2026 – Solio Conservancy

Today you explore the private Solio Conservancy, one of Africa’s most successful rhino sanctuaries. During a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch, you will encounter rhinos, buffaloes, zebras and other wildlife with Mount Kenya as a backdrop.

DAY 4: 3 August 2026 – Nyeri – Samburu

After breakfast, you drive north into the dry Samburu ecosystem. A stop at Kisima Point offers opportunities to photograph chameleons and other small animals. In the afternoon, you embark on your first game drive in Samburu National Reserve.

DAY 5: 4 August 2026 – Samburu National Reserve

A full day of safari in the Samburu Reserve with morning and afternoon game drives. Rare species such as the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx and gerenuk – the “Samburu Special Five” – are found here.

DAY 6: 5 August 2026 – Samburu National Reserve

Another full day in Samburu offers opportunities to observe animal behaviour and capture impressive photos in the warm morning and evening light.

DAY 7: 6 August 2026 – Samburu – Solio

After breakfast, you return south towards the Solio Conservancy with a picnic lunch en route. In the afternoon, you enjoy another game drive in the sanctuary.

DAY 8: 7 August 2026 – Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Today you explore the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, home to the world’s last two northern white rhinos. Alongside rhinos, you will also see elephants, lions and chimpanzees in the Jane Goodall Sanctuary.

DAY 9: 8 August 2026 – Flight to Amboseli

After breakfast, drive to Nairobi and take a short flight to Amboseli. In the afternoon, you enjoy your first game drive in the national park – with some luck, framed by the impressive Kilimanjaro.
Overnight: Kibo Safari Camp (Full Board)

DAY 10: 9 August 2026 – Amboseli National Park

Full-day safari in Amboseli with a picnic lunch. The park is famous for its large elephant herds, including the iconic bull “Craig,” one of Africa’s oldest elephants.

DAY 11: 10 August 2026 – Amboseli – Tsavo East

Early morning game drive at sunrise, followed by a drive to Tsavo East National Park. After lunch, you head out for safari where the famous red elephants and, with luck, wild dogs can be seen.
Overnight: Man Eaters Camp (Full Board)

DAY 12: 11 August 2026 – Tsavo East National Park

Full-day game drives in Tsavo East, one of Kenya’s largest and most pristine parks. Spot elephants, lions, zebras and a wide variety of bird species.
Overnight: Man Eaters Camp (Full Board)

DAY 13: 12 August 2026 – Drive back to Nairobi & Departure

After breakfast, drive back to Nairobi. Optional farewell dinner at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel (not included), followed by transfer to the airport for your flight back to Germany.
