8-day photo safari – itinerary

DAY 1 – Arrival

Upon arrival at Sørkjosen Airport, you will be transferred to your accommodation, the Reisafjord Hotel. You will check into your room there. During a brief introduction with your guide, you will receive all the important information about the itinerary for the coming days. Breakfast is included at the hotel. For dinner, you can choose between the hotel restaurant and other restaurants in the area. There is a café directly opposite.

DAYS 2 to 7 – Whale watching and the Northern Lights

Over the next six days, the focus will be on the fascinating wildlife of Northern Norway. Boat trips usually depart at around 9 am. Accompanied by experienced local skippers, you’ll head out into the fjords to observe and photograph orcas, humpback whales and, with a little luck, other marine mammals and white-tailed eagles in their natural habitat.

With only around three to five hours of daylight at this time of year, we make the most of the available light. The comfortable boats are also equipped with a toilet. Depending on weather conditions and the whales’ location, a transfer of approximately 20 minutes to another departure harbour, such as Hamneidet, may be necessary.

After each excursion, you’ll return to the hotel with time to warm up and relax. On clear evenings, you may have the opportunity to watch and photograph the spectacular Northern Lights. Thanks to our location in Sørkjosen, we can adapt our plans to the conditions and seek out suitable viewing locations.

If weather conditions prevent us from heading out to sea, alternative excursions or walks on land may be offered. The spectacular fjord landscapes, birdlife and other wildlife provide plenty of additional photographic opportunities.

DAY 8 – Departure

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Sørkjosen Airport for your journey home, taking with you wonderful memories and hopefully a collection of remarkable wildlife photographs.

A friendly note:

Nature is unpredictable. We are known for being in the right places at the right times. But sometimes nature does not behave as we would like it to.
